I love photographing newborns. Okay, so I love photographing all people, what can I say, I’m what you call a people-a-holic. Or something like that. There is something about newborns that is just so, so fresh, so sweet. Their smell is unexplainable, a smell of newness. Their tiny features that change so quickly. I love capturing all of their little parts, from their head to their toes. I always sneak in a few cuddles, because it reminds me of just how recently their little souls were in the Father’s hands.
You’ve heard it said that childhood is fleeting, well the newness of a newborn even more-so. That is why I always try to capture my newborns within the first two weeks. Little Evan wasn’t quite 2 weeks yet when we did his session. When I arrived he was wide awake which was great because I was able to capture some shots of him with his beautiful eyes open. It took some time to get him asleep, but I knew all it would take was us going on in the Florida heat to get him to fall asleep peacefully. While mom, dad, and ESPECIALLY myself (remind me never to wear a white top in this heat, I was drenched…and I am not THAT girl who would enter a wet T-shirt contest) began to sweat, Evan slept soundly allowing us to move him in all sorts of sweet poses.
Newborn sessions take a lot of patience and mom and dad were both AWESOME, giving their brand new baby boy lots of cuddles and lots of feedings. Thank you J, K, and E for an awesome session.
